Ask for a pool resurfacing quote in Coffs Harbour

Send the suburb, the pool type, its current finish and what you are seeing. A photo of the whole pool and one of the worst patch is a good start. We pass your request to a local pool contractor.

Call

02 6659 2119

Say the suburb, whether the pool is concrete or fibreglass, and what you are seeing. If you have a date in mind, say so. The call is a quote request, and the work is carried out by the local contractor your enquiry is passed to.

Or send the details

Fill this in and your request will be passed to a local pool contractor. A photo of the whole pool and one of the problem area answer most questions before they are asked.

What helps with a pool resurfacing quote

  • The suburb. Coffs Harbour, Sawtell, Toormina, Boambee East, Woolgoolga, Korora, Moonee Beach or nearby.
  • Photos. The whole pool, and a close view of the worst patch. A crack, a hollow-sounding area or a lifted tile is worth its own photo.
  • What the pool is made of. Concrete, fibreglass, tiled or painted, and the current finish if you know it: pebble, quartz, plaster or render, paint or epoxy.
  • Salt or chlorine. Coating data sheets treat salt water differently, so it can change which products suit.
  • What you are seeing. Rough or chalky patches, stains that will not clean, cracks, suspected leaks or lifting tiles. A crack or hollow area can mean more than a surface problem.
  • Size. Length and width in metres if you know them, plus steps and ledges.
  • Timing. A date you are working to, or none. Product data sheets set weather limits, so the contractor may talk about the season.
  • Other work. Whether tiles, coping, paving, gates or pool barrier panels are also being worked on. Touching the barrier can bring other rules into play, which the draining, dust and barrier page explains.
  • Registration. Whether the pool is on the NSW Swimming Pool Register.

If you rent out the property or run a business with a pool

All pools, including spas, must be registered on the NSW Swimming Pool Register, according to the Coffs Harbour City Council pool page. The NSW Swimming Pool Register information page says registration plus a certificate of compliance (or an occupation certificate) is needed to lease. Say in your enquiry if the pool is for a tenant or guests, and whether it is registered. This site cannot check the register, and it cannot say whether resurfacing alone changes anything. Ask the council or a certifier.

What to ask once a contractor gets in touch

Ask which finish and product is proposed and for the data sheet, how the old surface is removed and hollow areas are handled, how the pool is emptied and where the water goes, how dust is controlled, what the written warranty terms are and who gives them, and which licence or certificate is held. Check the licence category and expiry on the NSW licence check, and ask for the quote in writing. The cost guide lists what a quote should itemise, and the licence, contract and warranty page covers the written contract thresholds.

Places the pages are written for

Coffs Harbour, NSW, Sawtell, NSW, Toormina, NSW, Boambee East, NSW, Woolgoolga, NSW, Korora, NSW and Moonee Beach, NSW, and neighbouring places on the Coffs Coast.

What this site cannot help with

Nobody here can resurface your pool, give a binding price, approve work or tell you over the phone which licence or certificate your job needs. The NSW pages list pool surfacing within swimming pool repairs and servicing but do not map each finish to a category, so ask Building Commission NSW on 13 27 00. Coffs Harbour City Council can tell you about registration and how a pool may be emptied. SafeWork NSW covers dust and chemicals. This site passes your request on to a local pool contractor and does not promise how, when or whether one will quote.

Questions

Common questions

How do I get a pool resurfacing quote in Coffs Harbour?

Call or use the form on this page. Give the suburb, the pool type, the current finish if you know it, what you are seeing and a photo of the pool. Your request is passed to a local pool contractor, and any quote, visit or booking is arranged with that contractor, not with this site.

What photos should I send of my pool?

One of the whole pool, so the shape and the surface can be seen, and a close view of the worst patch. A crack, a hollow-sounding area, a stain that will not clean or a lifted tile is worth a separate photo. Photos help the contractor ask the right questions, though the contractor may still want to see the pool.

What if I do not know what finish my pool has?

Choose not sure on the form and send a photo. The contractor can often say more from a close photo. Tell the contractor what you can feel underfoot, whether it is rough or smooth, and whether the pool was ever painted, because the old finish decides how the work is done.

Do I need to say whether my pool is salt or chlorine?

Yes, it helps. Coating data sheets differ on salt water: one chlorinated rubber data sheet says it is not suitable for salt water pools, one epoxy care guide allows salt after the initial filtering, and other sheets do not mention it. Salt compatibility is product-specific, so the contractor needs to know.

Is the pool register relevant when I ask for a quote?

It can be. All pools including spas must be registered on the NSW Swimming Pool Register, and a certificate of compliance is needed to lease a property with a pool. Say whether yours is registered. If the job might touch the barrier, gates or coping near it, ask Coffs Harbour City Council or a certifier before work starts.

I rent out a house with a pool. What should I mention?

Say that it is a rental and whether the pool is registered. The NSW Swimming Pool Register page says registration plus a certificate of compliance, or an occupation certificate, is needed to lease. Mention if tenants use the pool, and ask the contractor how long the pool will be out of use so you can plan around the tenancy.

Can I ask for a quote if I am only planning ahead?

Yes. The form has a just planning ahead option for what you are seeing. Contractors decide for themselves whether they will price from photos or want to see the pool first, so ask. It is worth sending early, because product data sheets set weather limits and the contractor may suggest a season.

What should I ask the contractor once they get in touch?

Ask which finish and product is proposed and for its data sheet, how the old surface comes off, how hollow areas are handled, how the pool is emptied and where the water goes, how dust is controlled, who gives the warranty and on what terms, and which licence or certificate is held. Get the quote in writing.
